Carpenter I/Locksmith
100% full time

Job Qualification

Completion of high school and at least two years of experience as an apprentice/journey level locksmith in the maintenance and construction of buildings.   Must be licensed through the NC Locksmith Licensing Board.  Must be able to perform journey-level commercial locksmith work.  Must have thorough knowledge of the practices, materials and tools used in the locksmith trade, including complex access and control systems; thorough knowledge of all types of locks, fastening devices and related hardware; possess working knowledge of electrical locking and security systems and devices; knowledge of applicable code requirements, including those regulations pertaining to fire exits and door hardware; ability to work from plans and specifications; must be able to maintain computerized inventory and master locking system records, perform heavy physical labor, train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area, and follow and give oral and written instructions.
