Job Description

The Grants Coordinator will ensure the successful development, implementation, and closeout of grants to meet school and funder goals and objectives. The Grant Coordinator will oversee and be the main point of contact for program implementation, program compliance and audits, financial compliance, renewals, and any other related items requested by the funder(s). This position will be grant funded and may be allocated to one or more grant sources, including, but not limited to: Title I, SIG, IDEA, and Perkins.

  1. Ability to analyze data and assess progress toward meeting application indicators. Ability to work with large amounts of data, to analyze and interpret data, to detect errors, and prepare reports.
  2. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  3. Ability to use computer software programs for budgeting, i.e. Excel.
  4. Ability to write succinct reports.
  5. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: being courteous, professional, and helpful; demonstrates high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  6. Communicates with key stakeholders (teachers, principal and community) effectively on grant activities.
  7. Knowledge of K-12 educational systems particularly schools with disadvantaged students.
  8. Maintain and examine regulations and guidelines from government agencies.
  9. Process reimbursement forms.
  10. Works independently under pressure, give high attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  11. Strong contributor in team environment.
  12. Ability to consistently be at work, to arrive on time, to follow instructions, to respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  13. Proactive and takes initiative. Thinks creatively. Drives projects to completion. Insists on highest level of quality.
  14. Knowledge of federal and state grant guidelines, i.e. EDGAR, A-87, Single Audit, A-133, etc.

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.


Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA’s policy.

Human Resources retains the sole right and discretion to make changes to this job description. Any employee making changes unauthorized by the CEO or the Senior Director of Human Resources will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

This is a grant-funded position with an anticipated grant end date of 6/30/2021. Although the grant is expected to renew beyond the end date, all Federal guidelines and requirements must be met to ensure additional funding. You must comply with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations pursuant to your designated grant funding.
